SPAY/NEUTER CLINICS

In an effort to improve the health and well-being of pets in our community and to help reduce the incidence of lost or unwanted pets, SARL is pleased to offer Community Spay/Neuter Clinics for cats and dogs. We are also happy to announce that we do not have any breed or weight restrictions for the animals we serve. A variety of additional services may be available for an additional cost at the time your pet is being spayed or neutered (see below).

Spay/neuter availability is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note - at times there may be a multiple-week wait.

* A surgical procedure where the stomach is sutured to the abdominal
wall or the diaphragm to prevent bloat.

Looking for a service that's not listed? We may be able to provide it - just ask when you schedule your spay/neuter appointment!

Spay/neuter cost includes: pre-operative veterinary exam, spay or neuter surgery, free nail trim, pain medication at the shelter, cone/e-collar, and pain medication to go home. Pre-surgical blood work is available at an additional cost by choice. Otherwise, labs/blood work will be waived prior to surgery. A pre-operative exam will be done at SARL on the day of surgery to otherwise deem the animal healthy prior to the procedure.

DENTAL CARE *NOTE* Due to popular demand, we currently have a significant wait list for dental care services.

By age three, most pets have some degree of dental disease. Left untreated, it can lead to chronic oral pain, tooth root infections, bone loss and loose teeth, tooth fractures, and eventually systemic health issues. Signs of dental problems include bad breath, visible tartar, or red gums. Unfortunately, though, most dental disease occurs below the gum line, where it cannot be seen during a routine veterinary exam.

We offer a Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment, the gold standard for maintaining your pet’s oral health. It’s done under general anesthesia, which allows us to conduct a thorough evaluation of the entire mouth and provide safe, humane, and medically appropriate care. We perform dental X-rays, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and extractions (if needed). Our goal is to keep your pet safe, comfortable, and pain-free throughout the entire process.
