THIS PROGRAM IS BASED ON VETTING AVAILABILITY AND IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD. PLEASE CHECK BACK. CONTACT INFO WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME.

SARL has joined in the fight to reduce overpopulation by offering low-cost spay and neuter services to low-income cat owners.

Eligible owners will receive the following services for their cat:

  • spay or neuter surgery
  • nail trimming
  • one-year rabies vaccine
  • distemper shot
  • ear notching (feral cats only)

The price is $50 for a female cat and $25 for a male cat.

For an additional fee, cat owners can have their pet treated for fleas, ear mites, de-wormed, tested for feline leukemia or microchipped.

ELIGIBILITY:  The program is need-based, and pet owners must meet national poverty guidelines. Cats must be at least 12 weeks old and weigh at least 2 pounds. Those are the same age and weight standards applied to all animals spayed and neutered at SARL.

APPLICATIONS may be dropped off or mailed to the shelter to the attention of Shannon MacLatchy.
